The high-thrust T9.9 has been specifically designed to provide the extra grunt when you need to move big loads such as sailboats and heavy pontoons. Utilising a dual-thrust design the T9.9 produces twice the thrust of comparable two-strokes within the 2,000 to 3,000 RPM range, while delivering Yamaha’s the legendary reliability, durability, and efficiency that Yamaha Outboards are renown for.
The key mechanical difference between the T9.9 and the standard four-stroke platform is the use of a higher 2.92:1 gear ratio. This allows the T9.9 to spin a much larger propeller, generating more power to the water and resulting in less slippage. The T9.9 comes standard with Yamaha’s patented Dual Thrust propeller that provides maximum traction in both forward and reverse, by re-routing the exhaust in the opposite direction when in reverse. For additional on-water flexibility, the T9.9 is also available with a power tilt option.
FEATURES
212cc Two-Cylinder Engine
The four-valve, two-cylinder, single overhead camshaft delivers sufficient torque in the low to mid speed ranges, delivering a highly responsive and smooth running performance.
Anti-Corrosion - 5 Stage Paint System
Yamaha engines are known for their durability and high re-sale value. Part of this lies in the anti-corrosion protection. A unique YDC-30 aluminium alloy protects the engine’s exterior parts, while a zinc coating, high-quality stainless steel components and 5-stage exterior paint coating, offers long-lasting protection – inside and out.
DUAL THRUST PROPELLER
Yamaha’s large-diameter, low-pitch dual-thrust propellers are designed to give instant power in both forward and reverse, by redirecting exhaust gases way from the propeller, reducing reverse ventilation and generating more power to the water. This increases forward thrust by up to 60% and reverse thrust by up to 70%.
FRESH WATER FLUSHING SYSTEM
Simply connect a hose to the easy access connector to flush salt and dirt from the outboard without having to run the engine. Flushing the engine after each usage reduces corrosion and extends the engines life.
High-Output Alternator
A 12-Volt 16-Amp high-output alternator ensures that power is always available to start the engine, even after long periods of idling or running at low revs. This not only provides extra starting power, but delivers sufficient power to run the wide array of on-board electronic devices used in modern boating.
HIGH GEAR RATIO
All Yamaha high-thrust outboard models utilise a lower-mounted gear case design, featuring a high gear ratio. The gears are specially hardened to withstand the toughest working conditions – for long-term durability.
LARGE DIAMETER PROPELLER
The larger diameter prop enables the outboard to push greater volumes of water and generate increased thrust.
ONE-PIECE COWLING
The FT9.9 features a one-piece outer cowling design, with an intake drain system to easily and efficiently drain away any water that enters the cowling during normal engine operation. Incoming air is routed through a labyrinth of passages traps and drains water before it enters the engine’s intake, for maximum reliability.
POWER TILT
Yamaha’s push-button control makes tilting the engine quick, smooth and effortless.
PRIME START
Exclusive to Yamaha, PrimeStartTM makes starting your outboard as easy as starting a car. It allows the engine to be started cold by automatically controlling the engine ‘warming up’ process – eliminating the need for a conventional choke. This means you no longer need to ‘warm up’ your engine by revving it in neutral.

The new High Thrust T25 delivers the power and grip to manoeuvre heavier small vessels with exceptional efficiency. Based on the award winning F25, Yamaha developed the new T25 in response to requests for lightweight electronic fuel injected performance in a small, high-thrust configuration.
The new T25 benefits from the technology and features available
on the standard F25 model, including an exceptional power-to- weight ratio, variable trolling rpm control and the ability to connect to Yamaha’s Command Link Digital Gauges.
This T25 comes fitted with a dual thrust propeller, specifically tested and developed for this outboard. These big-diameter, low-pitch propellers offer exceptional thrust and efficiency
for pushing big loads in both forward and reverse.

FEATURES
966cc Four-Cylinder Engine
The large cubic-capacity, eight-valve, four-cylinder, single overhead camshaft, long-stroke, marine engine delivers impressive torque from low-to-mid speed ranges, resulting in a quick response and ability to push big loads. Large engine mounts reduce noise and minimise vibrations, for a more enjoyable boating experience.
Digital Network Gauges Compatible
This engines is compatible with Yamaha’s Digital Network Gauges (Command Link), giving you the information needed to maximise engine performance and efficiency, including Tachometer, Hours Run, Trim Angle, Oil Pressure, Warning lamps, Variable Trolling Control, Speed and Fuel Management.
ECM MICRO-COMPUTER CONTROL
This engine is controlled by an advanced microprocessor Engine Control Module (ECM), which receives inputs from six major sensors located throughout the engine. This information is used to ensure the engine runs at peak performance, by delivering the right fuel/air mixture to each combustion chamber.
Electronic Fuel Injection
The Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, injects the right amount of fuel into the combustion chamber at the optimum timing. This system takes into account engine speed and load requirements to achieve maximum engine performance including hot and cold starting and improved fuel efficiency.
Fresh Water Flushing System
Simply connect a hose to the easy access connector to flush salt and dirt from the outboard without having to run the engine. Flushing the engine after each use reduces corrosion and extends the engines life.
HIGH GEAR RATIO
All Yamaha high-thrust outboard models utilise a lower-mounted gear case design, featuring a high gear ratio. The gears are specially hardened to withstand the toughest working conditions – for long-term durability.
Labyrinth Exhaust System
Yamaha’s proven labyrinth exhaust system reduces engine noise at low RPM and idle. A water sealed outer wall around the exhaust muffler effectively reduces exhaust tone for whisper quiet operation and enhances cooling which protects the exhaust system against corrosion.
MECHANICAL STEERING CONTROL
The T25 engine is available as a mechanical forward-control option, suitable for center console and side console boats.
Power Trim and Tilt
Yamaha’s push-button trim control makes engine trim and tilt adjustments quick, smooth and easy, across a wide trim range. The negative trim settings allow for improved acceleration and the ability to bring the boat onto the plane more quickly.
Variable Trolling Control
Yamaha’s variable trolling control allows you to precisely adjust the engine’s idling speed from 650 to 900 RPM in 50 RPM increments. The ability to finely tune the trolling speed allows fisherman to perfect their lure presentation when chasing different species of fish.
