1832CC FOUR-CYLINDER ENGINE

The 16 valve, 1.8 Litre, dual overhead camshaft design delivers superior efficiency in the transfer of intake and exhaust gasses throughout the RPM range. This outboard incorporates larger intake and exhaust valves which enhance response, efficiency and mid-range torque.

Anti-Corrosion - 5 Stage Paint System

COUNTER ROTATING PROPELLER

This engine offers a counter rotating propeller option for improved steering control for twin engine setups, ensuring the vessel maintains a ‘neutral helm’ at any speed.

Larger 81mm Cylinder Bore

The previous-generation F90 used a 79mm cylinder bore, in the next-generation F90 the cylinder bore size has been increased from 79mm to 81mm which provides more efficient power delivery. A larger valve has been used for increased transfer efficiency for both intake and exhaust.

MULTI-POINT ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION

The Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, injects the right amount of fuel into the combustion chamber at the optimum timing, for ‘first-time, every-time’ hot and cold starting, improved fuel efficiency, excellent throttle response.

OFFSET CRANKSHAFT

The crankshaft design is offset 5mm from the centre of cylinder for more efficient transfer of power to the crankshaft.

SHIFT DAMPENER SYSTEM

Yamaha’s Shift Dampener System (SDS) propellers greatly reduce the noise associated with shifting an engine in and out of gear by absorbing the forces generated when forward and reverse gears are engaged.

The massive 5.6 Litre, 32 valve, direct fuel-injection, four-stroke engine delivers enough power to push large and heavy offshore boats. The self-tensioning chain immersed in an oil bath ensures quiet, maintenance free and consistent valve timing.

Integrated Electric Steering

Digital Network Gauges Compatible

HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR

The new alternator delivers 36 amps at wide open throttle, producing a full 28 amps at only 1,000 RPM which means there is sufficient output to keep charging the battery even at low RPM. Includes a dual battery charging system.

OFFSET CRANKSHAFT

The crankshaft design is offset 5mm from the centre of cylinder for more efficient transfer of power to the crankshaft.

VARIABLE TROLLING CONTROL

Yamaha’s variable trolling control allows the skipper to precisely adjust the engine’s idling speed from 650 to 900 RPM in 50 RPM increments. The ability to finely tune the trolling speed allows fisherman to perfect their lure presentation when chasing different species of fish.

Integrated Electro-Hydraulic Steering

TotalTilt™ with Tilt Limiter

This system also includes a built-in tilt limiter which automatically stops the engine tilt at a predetermined set point, to prevent engine contact with other objects.

Tilt Limiter

Available on Mechanical Control (MEC) outboard models, the built-in tilt limiter function automatically stops the engine tilt at a predetermined set point, preventing the outboard cowling from hitting objects such as bait boards or other parts of the boat.

Yamaha has taken the next step forward in premium outboard power, with the introduction of the XTO Offshore 450.

Featuring the same 5.6L big block displacement and long list of features as our original XTO 425, this awesome engine improves the outboard that took the world by storm.

The XTO Offshore 450 now comes with a Phase Angle Control Charging System, which features three-phase, simultaneous charging that produces more net amps at a low RPM – ideal for running high demand devices like gyro stabilisers, air conditioning, sounds systems and more.

For extra convenience, this engine is equipped with Yamaha’s exclusive TotalTiltTM with tilt limiter, resulting in faster and easier engine tilting with a simple double push of the tilt up or down button.

The cowling has also received an upgrade with raised chrome graphics and restyled panels, adding to the XTO’s premium look while embodying the extreme power of this massive outboard.

The massive 5.6 Litre, 32 valve, direct fuel-injection, four-stroke engine delivers enough power to push large and heavy offshore boats. The self-tensioning chain immersed in an oil bath ensures quiet, maintenance free and consistent valve timing.

Integrated Electric Steering

This industry first ‘steer-by-wire’ system uses an electric motor to directly move and secure the outboard, without any hydraulics or electric pump. This delivers very fast, precise, leak free and maintenance-free steering – that uses less power and is packaged in a clean rigging set-up.

Multi-Part Cowling System

By designing the cowling in separate, easily removable parts – getting to specific sections of the outboard for servicing is now quicker and easier. This new cowling design also makes it possible to service larger boats while they are docked on the water.

Redesigned Lower Unit

The hydrodynamically designed, oversized gear case enables higher maximum speeds and greater stability when turning. The high quality marine grade stainless steel components and hardened gears have been designed to handle extreme loads and highly corrosive marine environments.

Plasma Fusion Cylinders

The plasma fusion process creates a cylinder wall surface that is 60% harder than steel, removing the need for conventional steel cylinder sleeves. This significantly reduces weight, improves fuel efficiency and increases the engine capacity, resulting in an improved power-to-weight performance.

Thrust Enhancing Exhaust Routing

Blade slippage is decreased significantly when in reverse due to the exhaust gases being ducted through a ‘relief’ bypass located above the anti-cavitation plate. This improves braking capacity and reduces vibrations through the boat.
